About Amanda
I’m Amanda Jones, LCSW, a therapist based in Chicago and available to clients throughout Illinois. I bring clinical training alongside years of experience supporting individuals through life transitions, health challenges, and identity or relationship concerns. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
I specialize in supporting people living with chronic health conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other chronic conditions. My work is also deeply rooted in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, and I am especially passionate about helping clients process and heal from the impact of systemic and institutional oppression.
My work is grounded in authenticity and respect.
I bring curiosity, humor, and compassion to each session, creating a space where growth feels possible and sustainable. Drawing from solution-focused and person-centered therapy approaches, mindfulness, and strengths-based counseling, I support clients in exploring patterns, goals, and building on strengths.
In our work together, I strive to create an affirming, collaborative, and compassionate space where you can feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Research consistently shows that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful change. My goal is to meet you where you are — helping you explore what’s working, where you feel stuck, and how to move toward a more sustainable, fulfilling way of being.
